Today I am a Better Student

because I realize that education and learning are activities of peace time.  In war time, resources are reallocated. 

It is honorable to participate in activities that accelerate the human condition beyond merely meeting deficiency needs.

It is a great privilege of our geography and condition that women may learn, the middle class may learn, children may learn....

Today I am a Better Student because

• I believe that others have insight.  Even if it's not relevant to me today, may I participate in another teacher's unfolding.
• I am teachable.  I am sufficiently receptive to hear how another may speak gracefully, truthfully.
• I believe my community is rich with gifts of Knowledge and Wisdom and I want to celebrate that.
